Utility Rate Adjustment - Effective April 1, 2025
We know rate changes are never easy, and we want to be open with our community about why these updates are necessary.
Beginning April 1, 2025, the City of Hickman will implement modest updates to water and sewer rates. These adjustments are based on a third-party Cost of Service Study, which showed that current rates were not keeping pace with operating costs and upcoming system needs.
The goal is to maintain reliable service, fund necessary improvements, and support our growing community—while avoiding sharp increases down the road.
What to Expect:
- Sewer: A typical residential customer will see about a 5% increase
- Water: Residential customers can expect an increase of about $3.45/month
These changes apply to all utility users, and were adopted following professional recommendations and a public review process.
