Hickman Arts Council
The Hickman Arts Council is an advisory committee appointed by the Mayor that works to bring people together through community events, activities, and projects that enhance the quality of life in Hickman.
Throughout the year, the Arts Council helps plan and support a variety of community programs, including the Veterans Flag Project, Farmers Market, Makers Market, Trick or Treat on the Trail Wagon Contest, Holiday Lighted Parade, and other special events.

Interested in getting involved in your community? The City of Hickman is seeking community members who would like to serve on the Hickman Arts Council.
Arts Council members attend quarterly meetings and actively participate in planning and coordinating community events. If you enjoy working with others, sharing creative ideas, and helping create activities for the Hickman community, we encourage you to get involved.

Veterans Flag Project
Honor a veteran with a personalized flag displayed throughout Hickman.
Through the Veterans Flag Project, community members can recognize a veteran in their lives with a personalized, double-sided flag featuring an American flag background, veteran photo, name, and service information.
Flags are displayed on City light poles in recognition of Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
New Flag Donation: $100
Annual Storage & Redisplay: $50
At the end of the year, sponsors may choose to keep their veteran's flag or have the City store it for $50 and display it again the following year.
Donations help cover the cost of the personalized flags and mounting brackets used throughout the community.

Celebrate local creativity at the Hickman Arts Council's Annual Makers Market! The event brings together talented local artists, makers, and creatives showcasing handmade art, crafts, gifts, and one-of-a-kind creations.
Whether you're shopping for something special, searching for a unique gift, or simply looking to support local artists and makers, there's something for everyone. Browse the vendors, discover new favorites, and enjoy a day celebrating the creativity and talent within our community.
The event also features live music, food and drinks available for purchase, and free children's crafts provided by the Hickman Reading Center.

Trick or Treat on the Trail Wagon Contest
Held annually in conjunction with Trick or Treat on the Trail
Get those creative wheels turning! The Hickman Arts Council's Wagon Contest adds even more Halloween fun to the City's annual Trick or Treat on the Trail.
Families are invited to decorate their wagons and show off their creativity before the evening's Trick or Treat on the Trail festivities.

Holiday Lighted Parade
Celebrate the holiday season with a little extra sparkle in Hickman!
The Hickman Arts Council's Holiday Lighted Parade brings decorated and illuminated vehicles through Hickman for a festive community celebration.
Community members, businesses, organizations, and groups are invited to decorate a vehicle with holiday lights and join the parade. The parade follows the Hickman Hay Days parade route and concludes near the Hickman Community Center, where the holiday fun continues with cookies and cocoa with Santa.
